Happy Valentine's Day

I hope everyone had a great holiday. It seems like from Thanksgiving on through New Year's everything is so hectic I end up running around in circles. This can make one very, very dizzy!

The March theme will be “Go Fly a Kite” and I'm trying to find a field clear of power lines and trees to have a kite flying competition and someone to teach us how to make super aero dynamic kites.

March is also National Craft Month, National Feminine Empowerment Month (yeah!!!), International Hamburger & Pickle Month and Mirth Month.

The second week of March is Procrastination Week (it was supposed to be the first week but someone procrastinated) and the fourth week is Egg Salad Week (yum yum).

March has a bunch of other reason to celebrate.

March 2 – Read Across America Day
March 3 -- Bonza Bottler Day
March 5 --  Multiple Personalities Day
March 8 – Daylight Savings Begins
March 9 – Cabin Fever Day
March 10 – Festival of Life in the Cracks Day (I have no idea...)
March 11 – Worship of Tools Day
March 12 –  Alfred Hitchcock Day
March 14 – Pi Day – In observance of Albert Einstein’s birthday
March 15 – Ides of March
March 17 – St. Patrick’s Day (We're having a GREEN TOGA PARTY!!!)
March 18 – Pillsbury Dough Boy birthday (1965)
March 20 – Festival of Extraterrestrial Abductions Day
March 20 – Earth Day
March 21 – Good Friday
March 22 – National Goof-off day
March 23 - Easter
March 26 – Make up your Own Holiday Day
March 27 – Fly a Kite Day
March 28 – Something on a Stick Day
March 28 – Weed Appreciation Day (I assume this means Dandelions, etc.)
March 29 – Festival of Smoke and Mirrors Day

Just pick one and plan an event.

February Events Omission (OOPS!)

I received an e-mail from a member reminding me that I had omitted a very important national holiday from the January eNewsletter - National Weatherperson's Day, which is February 5th this year. Especially in Memphis where the weather changes so frequently and radically, this is a very hard job to have so please be sure to let your favorite weatherperson know how much (s)he is appreciated.

I also received an e-mail several months ago, which got misfiled and I only recently found. Since February is the month of romance, I thought it was appropriate to publish it now (better late than never).

M-Friends,

If any of the M-Friends decide that they want to get M-Married, and they further decide that they would like an M-Minister for the ceremony, I can help them out.

I am not a full-time minister, but rather a wedding officiant. I obtained ordination specifically to perform weddings. I am available for secular or Christian ceremonies at almost any location.

Make sure to tell folks to ask for the Memphis Mensa / M-Friends discount (20% off).
