Happy Holidays Everyone!
With all the hustle and bustle of the
holiday season, it's sometimes difficult to find the time to get
everything done. It seems like I just put up Halloween decorations and
they've already been replaced with Thanksgiving ones. Now down comes the
straw turkey and fall flowers and up goes the Christmas tree and lights.
Whew!
So, take a little time to kick back and relax with your friends at an
M-Friends dinner or join the group for the holiday party at the
Waggoner's. I was sorry to hear that there wasn't going to be a Murder
Mystery in-play at this year's party, but like a true Santa, Gary came
through and has written a new mystery to intrigue and amaze. It is called "Who Killed Professor
Hotchkins" and is geared toward Mensans, with a lot of esoteric clues and things that you should have learned in high school had you been paying attention. It will have 13 speaking parts and should be a lot of fun.
There's also an All-Night Movie Marathon planned for New Year's Eve with
champagne and noise makers at midnight. Help us welcome in 2008 and start
the year off with your M-Friends.
We're planning a monthly theme for 2008 and although all the details
haven't been worked out, you're sure to find something to grab your
interest. Just to give you some idea of what will be happening, April will
be "April Showers Bring May Flowers" and we're planning a
gardening event with a master gardener on-hand to give tips and advise on
all things gardening, free heirloom seedlings of some of the more common
vegetables everyone likes to grow and we're trying to schedule a fieldtrip
to the Magnevey House Gardens.
I'd like to see every member attend at least one event during 2008 and
hopefully we'll have a wide enough variety of events to accomplish this
goal.
Happy Holidays to Everyone!
